Formby is on the north west coast of England between Liverpool and Southport.

St. Luke's church is to the west of the town, on the edge of pine-woods and a nature reserve, and just a short walk from the beach.

If you are using Sat Nav we hope that our postcode, L37 2DF, will help you find us. The church is on St. Luke's Church Road. If you don't have a sat nav then that the maps below should help you to find us.

The Google map shows our location. If you click on "View Larger Map" you can change the scale of the map, and you can get directions to us by entering your own post code.

By Road

Getting here from the M57 motorway. The M57 opens to 4 lanes at its end. You need to get to the A5758 and the signposts will correctly tell you to move to the right. As you leave the motorway you need to avoid the extreme right hand lane - it would take you to the M58

Once on the A5758 (This is a new road and may not be on your sat nav) go straight ahead at the traffic lights of the first intersection. At the next roundabout take the second exit toward Formby. You are now on the the A565. You go through some woods, and the road open onto a dual carriageway.

At the first roundabout turn left for Formby.

The road bends right and there is a filling station on the right. Almost immediately after the filling station is a mini roundabout. Turn left. You have rather more than a mile to go.

You will cross a level crossing, and after about half a mile come to a cross roads. Turn right and you will see St. Luke's on your left after about 50 yards.

From the M58 you will need to get onto the A5758 but the signposting is non-existent. Approaching the end of the motorway move to the left as if following the Liverpool signs. Turn left onto what is actually a complex roundabout. Now move to the right - there is A5758 marking on the lanes. Get onto the A5758 and proceed as from the M57, above.

From Ormskirk follow signposts on the B5195 to Formby. You cross the A565 at traffic lights, and come to a "T" junction close to a bend. Turn left, and left again at the large roundabout. Then turn right at a mini roundabout.

You will cross a level crossing, and after about half a mile come to a cross roads. Turn right and you will see St. Luke's on your left after about 50 yards.

From Southport follow the A565. Pass an airfield to your right, and go straight on at the roundabout (Ignore signs telling you to turn right for Formby) and turn right at traffic lights. You will come to a "T" junction close to a bend. Turn left, and left again at the large roundabout. Then turn right at a mini roundabout.

By Rail.

Formby is on the Merseyrail Northern Line that goes from Southport in the north to Hunt's Cross in the south. It passes through Liverpool Moorfields and Central stations. If arriving at Lime Street you need to get to Central - this is a 5 minute walk, or one stop on the Wirral line. From Central get a train in the direction of Southport. Alight at Formby, and walk up the steps to the roadway. Turn right. St. Luke's is about 15 minutes walk.
